  • "DEI" is used by bigots as a stand in for "people who aren't white". So your "sort of" sarcasm comes across as racist, because no one, bigots or otherwise, means white folk when they're talking about the importance of diversity.

Ironic racism is still racism, and your intentions don't matter, because it reads like racism. You're lucky you didn't get banned tbh, and the only reason I didn't do that is because I couldn't be sure if you were racist, or just made a fucked up comment without realising how it would be interpreted.

  • If people have tagged them with the correct language, your language settings will filter out languages you haven't enabled.

If people haven't tagged their post with the correct language, then you can't filter it

  • For the most part, VR is a toy at this point. Interesting, but not compelling. The single exception I would say though, where it is genuinely transformational to gameplay rather than just gimmicky, is car/racing simulators and games. Most things, I can take or leave VR. But I can never play a racing sim again if it doesn't have VR. But, even if it doesn't come to Forza, it's no big loss, as there are plenty of VR enabled alternatives out there (though mostly on PC to be fair)

  • I own Forza 5 on the Xbox, and GT7 on my PS5. Historically, I've preferred the Xbox over the Playstation, but my experience on GT7 with VR on the PS5 basically killed Forza 5 and the Xbox for me.

So if Forza 5 comes to PS5 with VR support, for me, this will be good news. But if it doesn't come with VR support, I won't bother.

And I guess, ultimately, it's bad news either way, because I probably won't be going back to the Xbox whatever they do.

  • Came here to make this joke. Was an hour too late...

  • I don't know? They both pretty much shaped and changed my life from the moments they happened onwards...

  • This community specifically is about blahaj.zone, so new communities here, but also server maintenance, bugs etc. It's not really the place to advertise new groups.

However, if they're queer groups and relevant to the community here, it'll be ok :)

That being said, there are groups for telling people about new groups, like !newcommunities@lemmy.world and !communitypromo@lemmy.ca

  • I run an audio only version of one of them off of the back deck of my house. The BirdPi project!

  • Yep, same

  • I see plenty of content from people I don't follow because people I do follow have boosted it

  • By "to help bring prosperity", do you mean "Gentrify the place, price out the poor people and replace them with more affluent folk"?

  • As @Nothing4You@programming.dev mentioned, it got removed when the creator of the group was banned for racism.

The groups creator is no longer active on lemmy in any case, so I've restored the group, and you should be able to access it now. It's pretty inactive though

  • I had bottom surgery 7 years ago, and my scars are pretty much invisible these days.

That being said, I still don't think people would mistake it for a cis vagina in the long term

  • Yeah, it does look great.

But in terms of tiling WMs, I have high hopes for Cosmic! It's coming along really well (though not as pretty as Hyprland)

  • The only downvotes you see on remote instances are from people on the same instance. Unless something has changed, lemmy doesn't federate downvotes when the community is hosted on an instance with downvotes disabled (https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/2128)

  • The bans are AI driven, and the appeal responses are AI driven. You won't find an explanation for why you were banned, because there was no human behind the ban

  • I looked up aphantasia, and according to Wikipedia, it's someone who can't mentally visualise something.

Yep. I have that as well as no inner monologue!

While many “hear” the words in their mind when reading, people with anendophasia can process text more directly, grasping the meaning without the mediation of an internal voice.

That quote jumped out at me from the link in your post. I've been learning Spanish (slowly) for the last few years, and that really matches with how I've learned it. I've often described language as "sitting on top of" these mental concepts I have for things. I access the "concept" first and then find the word for it only if I need it. And learning Spanish hasn't been about learning the English equivalent words, it's been about attaching Spanish to my existing concept network. I translate Spanish to English by going back to the concepts and then finding the English words.

Quality bodies only benefit you if you have found yourself limited with your previous bodies, and specifically need the new features.
