From "Oomuro-ke: Dear Friends" spin-off.
This clip might not be the best description of the spin-off itself, it's too active, but pretty funny. "Oomuro-ke" seemed to me the most peaceful episode in the Yuru Yuri series. It's like you flowing through the plot, there aren't any sharp ups and downs even when compared to other CGDCT.
What I really liked was the sound work, it's top notch here. You can hear slight differences in the position of the characters in the scene, light footsteps around the room, and even the effect of the location of the walls on the speaker's speech.
Rules Page and Update
tl;dr - A more complete set of rules has been posted to the wiki and a link included in the sidebar.
Hi everybody! Despite my tendency to write too much, this will be a quick post, I promise. 🤞
I had been slowly working in the background on writing up a more verbose and complete version of rules for the community on the wiki. After the most recent discussion about an edge case in the rules in which the community gave some great feedback, I thought it worthwhile to make this page go live and call it out in the sidebar.
The most notable parts of the full rules that are not present in the shortened version present in the sidebar would be:
- Some clarifications on relevant content
- A longer discussion of NSFW content and some edge cases
- Rules for posts linking to legally available full episodes
- Rules/guidelines for [Clip] posts
- Rules pertaining to self-promoti

What hasn't already been said about Frieren at this point. Long before an anime adaptation had been announced, I was a huge fan of the manga. I was worried that it wouldn't translate to the anime medium very well due to the slower pace and less intense action compared to many other shounen. Well, I shouldn't have worried at all. They pulled out all the stops in the adaptation and juiced up the action sequences through gorgeous visuals and a fantastic OST.
Season 2 has been announced, but given the production schedules of the teams involved, it will likely be quite some time until it gets worked on or comes out. Even if I have to wait 10 years for it, I am happy to give it the time they need to create magic like they did in season 1. It will be a mere 10-year adventure in the meantime.
Edit: Just wanted to include a mention of !frieren@ani.social as well.

Dan Da Dan has really been the standout show from this season. I find it an almost impossible task to try to explain the premise of the show though. It's weird, it's funny, it's exciting, it's tragic, and so many other things. The series somehow blends so many different things into one chaotic stew and it all somehow works. Add the fantastic animation and OST on top of that and it has been a ton of fun this season.

I understand that this show might not be everybody's cup of tea. It constantly was featuring a main character that is very clearly aimed at shota lovers after all. However, I wanted to highlight this show for a different reason; the animation.
This show was made by a very new studio, Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. As a new studio, they were able to experiment with different ways to produce a series instead of having already established production lines in place. The key thing they do differently is they make heavy use of Unreal Engine throughout the process. This also streamlined things so that they could keep the same creative team working on every episode together rather than separate teams working on diffe

This was such a chill show and I really enjoyed it. Sometimes all I want to do at the end of the day is sit down and have a nice, relaxing nightcap of an episode and this show fit the bill perfectly.

This show nailed the "post-apocalypse with a deeper mystery" feel. The animation was gorgeous throughout and there are some reveals as the season goes that got me super hooked. I ended up diving into the manga to see what happens next. To top it all off, the show had a killer OP.
Unfortunately, there is not yet an announcement for a season 2, but that isn't a no, right? I need to keep the hope alive.

Did you believe me yesterday when I said that was the final birthday post? Well, it wouldn't have been a surprise otherwise.
I know you might be disappointed that this cake got ruined. However, don't worry, Nano actually has a backup cake for us to celebrate with (direct link if the embed below doesn't work).

I guess you won't be celebrating with me based on that response though ☹
Rewatching this part of the episode caused me to literally laugh out lout at just how over the top edgy Heero was being. The musical sting that happens after he drops his line is really what pushed it over the top for me.

That's right! A whole anime about heliocentrism is airing this season. The first three episodes have been an absolute ride and the end of episode three just left me staring at the screen wondering what could possibly happen from here. If you do check this show out, make sure to watch through episode 3 at least.
Despite the setting resembling that of 15th century Poland, the series is very much fictional. It draws inspiration from our history and geography, but is fictionalized for the sake of drama. I have written about some of the science and history touched on in the show in the episode 1 discussion thread if you are curious.
The show is incredibly tense (and does occasionally feature torture scenes for those that are sensitive to such things). When you are dabbling in research that, if discovered, would cost you your life, then any misstep will be your last.
