Why are they all empty?
If you're sure you enabled Show NSFW in your settings, it could just be that your instance didn't want to backfill older posts. No idea if it tries to do so when you visit a previously unvisited community for the first time.
Edit: Of course if you're visitng without being logged in, it won't show anything. No idea why Lemmy does it that way.
You need to change the format of the links for them to work for people on other instances: the link needs to be only /c/communityname@lemmynsfw.com, I think. Testing that theory:
And it looks like this one works for me as someone on another instance whereas your links take me away from my instance
For some reason the autofill function in Lemmy does not do links this way automatically

But the only communities I see here are explicit, and I'm not going to be submitting to these explicit instances/communities.

I just made !nsfw411@lemmynsfw.com with the intention of using it as an organized catalog of communities, categorizing them by type. Feel free to post any communities and the categories they may fall under. The communities also don't have to be specifically on lemmynsfw.com, they could also be from other lemmy instances or maybe kbin instances.

You can see content if you view the communities through your instance and you have NSFW enabled. e.g. if you visited beehaw.org/c/porn@lemmynsfw.com you'd be able to view the !porn community.

Yes they can. I made the same expierence and so I created an account on another instance.

Best way to get a community rolling is to just try to post as much as you can at the beginning and wait, especially as we're still unbelievably small compared to all of reddit's nsfw communities lol.
Asiansgonewild is one of the most popular channels on this instance but we need more people posting instead of making 10 different duplicate channels

Someone the other day gave a script to do so. But it requires running a browser plugin. On the lemmynsfw instance we have a toggle.
