I'm an old rider ... and she's an old German lady I call 'Lotte' ... and we both take it easy and sometimes when I stop during my ride, I just love looking at her and just be amazed that I can ride a bike like this ... when it was new, it must have gone for about $20,000 (or more in Canada) ... plus add to that the hard case luggage that it came with and that's another $1,000 extra .. at those prices, it's almost the price I paid for in 2000 for a small property I bought!
But that's the beauty of old Beemers ... reliability ... Lotte will probably outlast me in the long run.
