It's true. I think Chinese social media's tone towards the west is "yes we are surpassing them in some regards now, but we cannot underestimate the west's power or treat it as a monolith because there are good people everywhere, so we must keep learning and working hard." Such a mentality could not be more diametrically opposed to youtube channels with millions of subscribers that post once a week tearing down China in the most cynical and diabolical ways possible, with viewers doing nothing but cheerleading the narrative. In the long-run, this racist enmity will be a large factor in the downfall of western civilization.
There is a certain "come to" moment to be had when you look at the constructive attitude towards learning and understanding the worldview China has as a "nascent nation" and compare it to a nation like the United States. A lot of those mistake the view of an empire (U.S) "naturally" degenerating when historically there is always reason behind it. The cannibalization of institutions of learning, social programs that kept poverty down and the invoked cultural stigma towards progression via racism, xenophobia and class warfare all serves a purpose to the capitalist as their profit rate degenerates further by their own actions.
There's a certain level of terror one can feel living in the U.S and seeing how much they're willing to sacrifice. Capital is being siphoned upwards as the infrastructure actually crumbles around you. The services and utilities choking and skyrocketing in price as state and county budgets get more strict and the rentiers become merciless. That "come to" moment is seeing what the effects of defunded education, poverty and chemical poisoning did to those in the past and what comes in the future compared to China.
