I remember a gaming associate crying about how his wife has custody of the kids and blamed it on liberalism. Like, dude, I’m pretty sure women being the default and preferred child raising parent is a traditional viewpoint.
(I was wondering if we were referring to the actual actor, a character that he played, or generic old white men who cosplay as if they work strenuous outdoor jobs).
That's sad to hear. Reminds me of his appearance on Parks and Rec where his character is initially misjudged as a libertarian/conservative due to his cowboy-like demeanor and off-the-grid lifestyle, but turned out to be a left-leaning hippie instead. The basic idea behind that character being that the right does not have a monopoly on a lot of the "values" they claim to uphold.
I don't know, but I honestly think there's an interpretation available here where he's just speaking to his fellow liberals about how his wife left him.
