If I remember correctly their reasoning was it was to "Help the people that actually were motivated to get help."
I am still suffering through most of my issues. (The anxiety not so much as I am on a high dose of benzos.) I have yet to find any good help since then and any mental health facility I've found since then that takes medicaid is booked up full. My bad state has driven most of the people out of my life and I have no "support system" left to speak of. (Which shies me away from attempting any anti-depressants because of the severe side effects.)
I had thought getting out of the south was going to be a benefit and I could actually get help, but it seems I am forever cursed to be the one who fell through the cracks.
