Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani has listed a claim against the one-term president over unpaid legal fees in a new bankruptcy filing.
The ex-New York City mayor includes a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J Trump.” in the 26 January filing, which states that the amount is “undetermined.”
Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month, days after a federal judge ordered him to “immediately” pay more than $148m to a pair of Georgia election workers a jury determined he defamed.
Mr Giuliani represented Mr Trump in a string of unsuccessful lawsuits contesting the results of the 2020 election that he lost to Joe Biden.
Mr Trump’s legal fees owed to Mr Giuliani have previously been reported. The New York Times wrote in August 2023 that “Mr Trump has never explicitly told Mr Giuliani why he is effectively stiffing him, but the former president has pointed out that he lost the cases related to the election.”
Under “tax refunds owed to you,” the filing also mentions “Overpayment of taxes from The Mask Singer” in California for more than $10,000. Mr Giuliani performed on “The Masked Singer” in 2022, in which he sang “Bad to the Bone.”
I'm really curious how much the shit stain got paid for the one or two episodes on the Masked Singer that it could be possible to have overpaid his taxes related to it by over $10K.
I thought that was funny, so I checked the source again, leaving me disappointed - feeling that they were just providing context for international readers.
Am I wrong (it was indeed a jab over the Stop The Steal mindset)?
That aside, you're right about him coasting off 9/11 for quite a while. His failed Presidential bid was basically him spamming "9/11” from start, to finish.
He had the same problem as Meatball Ron: the more the GOP base voters heard him and saw him, the more they were repulsed by him.

The newspaper reported that the former president told his aides that he didn’t want Mr Giuliani to receive “a dime” unless he succeeded in the case, and noted that $340,000 had been paid to Mr Giuliani — through Trump’s Save America PAC — to cover some of his ex-lawyer’s legal debt.
The filing shows that “Joseph Biden Defamation Action” is also listed for an “undetermined” amount after Mr Giuliani sued the president in October after he used the phrase “Russian pawn” during a presidential debate in 2020.
But the record also shows the fund has spent more than $500,000 on his legal fees, leaving $180,000 in cash on hand.

You know, this may well be an avenue in which to undermine Trump's desire to return to presidency. He still has a base, but you attack his wealth including his crony's, and to try to make his candidacy financially unsustainable. Noam Chomsky said how much money you can throw at election campaigning is what ultimately dictates whether you could win or not.
Slight twist here He's not looking for the presidency. His goal is to get in disable the Justice Department and the Executive Department and turn it into a mini dictatorship. If he manages to get in he doesn't have any money problems anywhere.
To be honest, none of this is really hitting him anyway. He owes shit tons of money to so many people, He's just not going to pay any of them.
I also suspect he's able to work this in a way where campaign finance isn't quite as big of a deal. He already gets absolute free coverage for everything he does. If he didn't rally in campaign in every red state would that really affect his base significantly? If he did really would it change any significant number of mines that wouldn't vote for otherwise? The people who are or aren't voting for him at this point already understand his goals. He could probably rally these people's effectively on a YouTube video as he could in person
