NCSOFT has officially granted Homecoming a license to host City of Heroes.

That means the community servers running on leaked code are now the de-facto official servers, doesn't it ?

Has such a thing ever happened before ? Usually these servers are at best ignored, and at worst being threatened or sued into shutting down.

That's amazing.

I'm not too familiar with the City of Heroes Community, so I don't know how good a deal this is, but it is nice to see a fan effort to keep a game alive not get summarily shut down by the rights holder.
