Tesla has removed Disney+ from some of its vehicles amid Elon Musk having an online fight with Disney CEO Bob Iger. The fight started when Disney halted its advertising on X after Musk agreed with and amplified antisemitic content, for which he eventually apologized.
Every week, there’s a new drama with Elon Musk on X, formerly known as Twitter. It sometimes indirectly affects Tesla, but this time, it affects it directly.
The current drama stems from Musk giving support to an antisemitic post on X, which he didn’t initially apologize for, though admitted that it was a mistake a week later. He further apologized but was already attacking Disney. In the meantime, the result was a massive backlash, where many companies stopped advertising on X, including Apple and Disney.
Musk took a particular issue with frequent right-wing target Disney – in the interview when he apologized for the tweet, he attacked advertisers for pulling out almost in the same breath.
Can't watch and cry to the little mermaid while drunk behind the wheel of my self-driving cybertruck that's mowing down school children Twisted Metal style.
I've had to drive several Ford trucks recently. I shit you not it was one of the most dangerous experiences I've had because there are 0 buttons. Everything is on the touch screen, so instead of having the tactile confirmation of a button being pressed or the knowing the location of a knob, you have to go through several menus and dropdown selections to do basic shit like changing the volume, temperature, air flow, etc. And there's like a 900 ms latency so you have to check whether or not your sweaty, greasy fingers actually pressed the option.
(the volume is analog but i swear it was virtual on mine)
Yea my last boss leased 150s. Nothing like almost dying because he's half off the road going 65 on back roads while staring at a computer moniter trying to get fox news back on the radio.
Communism is dumb and irrational unlike capitalism where a multi billion dollar company's decisions and a country's potential economic collapse are dependent on a single person's emotions
Apparently he removed it only from vehicles who have never accessed the app.
I mean…. Why the fuck are we watching movies whist motoring, to begin with? Remove Disney+, fine. But remove them all. Also, how fucking petty are we that we are removing an app from my vehicle’s infotainment whatever?
This is not quite the shittiest timeline, but its pretty fucking close to it.
Doesn't this violate anti-trust laws. Not letting someone do business with one company because they won't do business with another company you own in a different industry.
What kind of OS is the Tesla infotainment system running? Are companies writing custom apps from scratch for it or just porting their Android apps for it?
Nothing helps your cash-hemorrhaging company attract new advertisers like the most petty weak little baby-slaps against people that have (rightfully, as you've since admitted) called you out for bad behavior. Man, where can I sign up to do business with this guy!
