I think we should also focus on communities that can draw comments. Something along the lines of r/AskRedditAfterDark. Communities around erotica, roleplay, confessions etc should also be good for engagement.
Coms that are focused on visual stuff would naturally be low in engagement IMO.
All of the "gonewild" subs should specifically be for non-commercial OC, as they were on reddit. Nothing against people trying to make a buck off OnlyFans, but I much prefer content from people doing it "just because" as opposed to monetizing it.
I don't think they necessarily need to be non-commercial, but the "gonewild" communities at least need to enforce that everything is OC. As you said, !asiansgonewild doesn't seem "gonewild" at the moment.
There were "nofans" subs on reddit, it would be great to see that here, but that may require a bot to enforce the rules. Maybe one of the nofans mods could port the bot from reddit.
Fair point. I know the level of strictness varies - I think the OG /r/gonewild wouldn't allow you to post if you used that account anywhere on reddit to direct traffic to Onlyfans. Other subs would let you post as long as you didn't have any references to Onlyfans in that specific message or media (OF watermark).
Ultimately, it comes down to the rules set by each community's mods, but I feel like the GW "brand" should specifically mean OC without directly soliciting for OF/Fansly/etc. But that's just my two cents.
Personally I think filling out the vanilla some of the subs would be good to help drive traffic, which in turn helps determine which of the more niche ideas are wanted. That’s why I made !porninfifteenseconds@lemmynsfw.com. Some other broad ones could be general nsfw, nsfw_gifs, (is gonewild still a thing?), and maybe a rule34 com.
Go real vanilla. Romantic porn, healthy porn and so on. The main drive of the site is it's communities so it's better to fill in niches where people like to talk about the content than just another still gallery of semi-naked conventionally attractive white girls.
Also porn for women. The gals at Reddit built themselves really cool communities and I don't think there are that many corners on the internet where women can share and talk porn. Although this definitely needs to be initiated and moderated by women so if you're male not much you (or I) can do.
Agreed, probably would be better if there were a diverse set of main communities for users to start off on. A women-centric jumping off point would be great, but as a dude I can't really do much about it.
Personally, I love the more niche fetishes, but I do agree with the other posters here that we probably need more vanilla and conversation-driven coms first to drive engagement.
As I think on it, a place for amateurs to post a la gonewild and its variants would probably be a draw.
Reddit migrant here, looking for some rough equivalents of what we have/had over there. Not sure how much my suggestions are worth, considering I'm purely a fetishist, and not really into nudity (or anything involving intimate areas), which makes my existance on a purely NSFW platform questionable... :P
BDSM:
General discussion board
Memes (r/bdsmmemes)
Content sharing boards:
Bondage (maybe even with specializations like)
Straitjackets (r/straitjacketbondage)
Armbinders (r/armbinders)
Sleepsacks
Vacuum Beds (r/vacbeds)
Latex:
Latex clothing
Shiny bondage (r/shinybondage)
I'd probably actively participate in the BDSM discussion board, and have some OC bondage and latex content I could share, should appropriate communities arise.
not sure how big this instance is gonna get, but gonewildaudio is one of my favourite subreddits. I actually have no idea what's going to happen to that subreddit if they decide to not reopen. Because that really was a unique place, most of the rest of the content you can find elsewhere but I genuinely have no idea where to find that kind of stuff if not for reddit.
I just created it and moved my own (lousy) creation from reddit to here ! I just hope people will join and create content as well! It was one of my favorite communities as well!
A community focused on girls who are classy and glam. And maybe really extra and high maintenance. It can include nudity (even full nudity), but the emphasis is on classy.
I agree with trees but some of those other ones are kind of dangerous dude please be safe. I'm sure you are but other may not be and there are a lot of dishonest people out there
The subreddit /r/PrettyOlderWomen has a great feature/rule: All pictures are dated with a year or the label "recent photo". That way you can spot reposts very easily and concentrate on new pictures. I'd love to see that feature/rule on celebrity communities.
I just made !nsfw411@lemmynsfw.com with the intention of using it as an organized catalog of communities, categorizing them by type. Feel free to post any communities
and the categories they may fall under. The communities also don't have to be specifically on lemmynsfw.com, they could also be from other lemmy instances or maybe kbin instances.
If anyone wants to help with the categorizing, message me or reply.
A community related to models from metart, atkgallery, thisisglamour and so on. There are communities with this kind of content, but its for specific topic.
I have been unable to find something like "coffeegonewild" or "yolocafe" here, those were always personal favorites of mine to post on. Nice "we're just everyday people being sexy" vibes. I'll admit that I haven't searched very hard, yet.
I put these in the general NSFW thread asking what we want but what I miss the most is the non porn nudes threads.
Normal Nudes - unposed unedited full body nudes and examples of edited vs unedited, with a "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything" comment policy and a strict ban on promoting paid sites
Naked Progress - just such an uplifting place, the Fit Women community here just seems to be "models" mostly just skinny and yes, in shape ladies with boob implants and so smooth they are clearly edited, not regular people showing off their progress, not original content.
Both co-ed, mostly dudes but not an overwhelming majority of male content, maybe 70/30. So they were nice to browse as a woman, and it's nice to just compliment people's bodies in a nonsexual way.
Cis lesbian, trans lesbian and cis on trans lesbian (probably would need to be in separate communities).
Professional and amateur trans content, ideally in separate communities and ideally in an environment were at the very least we don't get treated with slurs. r/Safe4Trans was very good and I will miss it.
honestly idk, i usually watch consensual-nonconsent kinda stuff but 1. it has a tiny audience and 2. it usually makes ppl angry and drives them away. I wouldn't wanna bring my shit here cuz then you'd have more trouble than good i imagine.
usually what happens with me and cnc is like fucking love it whilst watching, but then I think of the unfortunate implications afterwards... its why hentai/drawn stuff is nice because at the end of the day you know nobody was coerced/pressured/forced to do it because they have no money otherwise.
