He was recently reelected in 2024, even though he fled and went to Mexico last time there was a major disaster. He's a POS and still gets elected no matter what. These are distractions.
- He also failed to catch a beer tossed to him during a parade, which I would argue is also a crime.

I hate this asshole as much as any sane person, but I still almost always try to be fair. In that vein, I can't imagine him having stopped his vacation to return would have led to any productive benefits for doing so - quite the opposite, he'd more likely have been an unneeded & unhelpful distraction.
Sadly Ted Cruz is a symptom of much much bigger issues.
Its going to take making politicians fear again to fix this shit. Luigi had the right idea
- What's fucked is that's actually why none of the Republican politicians will turn on Trump because they are endlessly getting violent threats from their own MAGA voters who they validly see as more dangerous, unhinged, and likely to follow through than leftists.

He was re-elected. Texans, in general, do not care that he is only in it for his own enrichment. In general, Americans do not care whether their politicians lie and cheat and are only in it for their own enrichment, so long as they belong to the right team/tribe.
