'It has the appeal of an actual horror': How Return to Oz became one of the darkest children's films ever made

I’m a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz, love the film and have even played the part of the Scarecrow in a school play once. However I think I still prefer this Return to Oz as the better film.

I feel it’s a much closer representation of the original books than The Wizard of Oz was. I would love to see an adaption done of the series of books, maybe being able to combine a few into one or make a series of shorter shows.
