Almost as if Google disapproves of custom ROMs.
Google can take GraphineOS from my cold dead hands
What other reliable (in regard to reliable custom rom compatibility) phone macturers does this leave us with? Fairphone maybe, are there any others?
- literally not a single one if you agree with the reasons GrapheneOS has only supported Pixel devices.

- There are none on the level of Fairphone. Sony has seen fairly consistent support for its devices over the years and has retained features like the headphone jack and SD card slot, so may be a decent alternative to look into.
  
  That's sad to hear. I fear that less people will use custom roms and therefore overall development will suffer. But maybe some people will opt for fairphone instead of google, which at least makes it a tiny bit better imo...
Right after my bf just got a Pixel 8 too. 😐 Fucking foul, I will be importing a fairphone when my 6a dies.
- Apparently their software support is quite shit according to graphene devs

  I have no data to back this up but I think most Lemmy Android users don't use custom ROMs or root their phones.

- True I'm pretty bummed. Looks like graphene can keep building from aosp for the time being though. Hopefully then can find a better long-term solution.
