Forty-one percent of Biden supporters say they believe people who support the Republican party and its ideologies have become “so extreme in what they want that it is acceptable to use violence to stop them from achieving their goals.” Likewise, 38 percent of Trump supporters say it is OK to use violence to stop Democrats from achieving their goals...
A significant share of respondents question if democracy is no longer a viable system of governance; 31 percent of Trump supporters said America should explore alternative forms of government to ensure stability and progress, compared to 24 percent of Biden supporters.
Democrats don’t want any progressive tax policies because it means they have less money to bribe cops who want to kill them to hold it off a little longer
I wish I could remember the name of it (or Google was less shit) but there was a study done a few years back that showed both centrist voters and politicians had much less belief in and much higher distrust of democracy than either the right or the left. It was called something like 'the extreme centre' but I can't find the original study.
Hey there! This is Brian with Project Home Fire. Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to speak with me. Now that we've verified your name and address, would you agree with the statement that "the ends justify the means, and any action taken by your preferred political party is acceptable if it achieves your goals?" You would? Thats great, thanks.
If you want to have a favorable interpretation of this one:
Even in the wording of this question: Americans have been propagandized to believe that the American system of "Democracy" is far and away the best form of a democratic government if not indeed the only possible form of a democratic government.
This result isn't necessarily that a third of Americans want a fascist dictatorship so much as it is that they have made the determination that the form of government they live under absolutely fucking sucks.
That's the most baffling part. Like I can understand Red MAGA is animated by decades of right-wing media promoting anything that gets engagement.
What exactly does Blue MAGA think they're fighting for? Who's gonna fight the cops for "If you pay student loans until you're 65, we'll waive what's left over?"
It is entirely possible that in their minds the statement
Forty-one percent of Biden supporters say they believe people who support the Republican party and its ideologies have become “so extreme in what they want that it is acceptable to use violence to stop them from achieving their goals.”
means that it's ok to stop the people who shoot up schools and synagogues etc
edit: as opposed to just bombing the Republic National Convention or swearing in ceremonies or whatever violence means to them here
I'm not very confident that this reflects reality in any meaningful way. It's very easy to just answer "yeah I guess" on a phone poll about stopping the other team, but I think we all know that very, very few libs would be willing to throw down over, well, anything when push comes to shove.
Their idea of violent resistance is spray painting an A on the wall, kicking a trash can, then turning in anyone who’s smashing a window to the cops to get arrested.
Americans won’t do shit. Realistically, it’s just going to be right wingers committing mass violence and provoking more violence at protests and rallies. And 50% of them will be FBI agents
