Actually, he won 49.8% of the voter's votes
The problem with democracy as it is right now isn't that it's "the majority rule" (it isn't), but the fact that it's a tool of legitimizing class rule.
You get a bunch of pre-approved bourgeois candidates and parties who will either bring about further entrenchment into Capitalism (with people like Trump) or literally nothing (as seen with socdems around the world), and the parties that usually win are determined by the amount of control they have over media or "the loudest voice" aka money.
The "pre approved candidates" thing is a problem with first past the post voting and not inherently a part of democracy. Alternative voting systems make it mathematically possible for any random person to win and thus buying out every possible candidate is untenable. Check out ranked voting and see if there are any movements near you to change the voting systems you use.
More like "On my way to completely ignore 100% of the voters after I won the election with 46.09% of the vote."
Here we see the downside of term limits.
We think it's more pointing out that democracy itself is flawed. Tyranny of the majority.
'Democracy' does not mean 'first past the post election of a single executive agent, pre-vetted by local oligarchs.'
The inability to imagine, see in history, or see in the world today other systems of decision making by the people reads as unimaginative to the point of being disingenuous bad faith bullshit.
