Trump goes on TV Friday and announces he's going to end Far Left Immigrant support by Monday. Then he goes on TV Monday and says he fixed it. Folks watching TV just assume its true, because nobody else on the TV is arguing otherwise.
The problem is, so do his supporters. If Trump says this and they believe it then Trump's "normalized" the use of the National Guard for suppressing protests without even having to do it.
Reality is what he makes it if enough of his cult members follow his reality

If history is anything to go by, especially recent history, then the plan is a convoluted web of "looking shocked" then some serious "doing nothing about it".
After being called out about being lazy and complacent they'll mention about doing some useless shit such as peaceful protests etc etc but then they will do more nothing.
In a few years time the rest of the world will be laughing at how easily a failed 'business' 'man' and reality TV 'star' who was also a successful racist, paedo, convicted rapist, con man and 34 times felon took over the whole country in just a few months without a much of a fucking whimper from the populace. Everything we're seeing now is made up of federal law enforcement. Homeland Security/ICE/FBI/DEA wearing military uniforms. It's a giant LARP to give the appearance of troops to try and escalate.
