'Black Mirror: Bandersnatch' and 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Interactive Specials Leaving Netflix

  • I wasn't a fan of bandersnatch, and I ended up watching a passive edit of the Kimmy Schmidt special.

I discovered very soon into bander that I'm not interested in interactive television. About half way it started feeling like a chore, and then when I found there was dead ends and multiple endings I was looking for the next natural ending to turn it off. If I was watching it alone I probably would have just quit on the spot.

I go to television to be told a story. If I want a game, I'll go play a video game with a controller better than a TV remote.

  • I'll admit I liked the concept behind Bandersnatch. The story it tried to tell was also pretty neat and had something going for it. A look into game development in the 80s and mentions of retro computer systems (C64 and ZX Spectrum) hit all the right boxes. Sadly, the novelty wore off quickly.
