'Black Mirror: Bandersnatch' and 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Interactive Specials Leaving Netflix
I wasn't a fan of bandersnatch, and I ended up watching a passive edit of the Kimmy Schmidt special.
I discovered very soon into bander that I'm not interested in interactive television. About half way it started feeling like a chore, and then when I found there was dead ends and multiple endings I was looking for the next natural ending to turn it off. If I was watching it alone I probably would have just quit on the spot.
I go to television to be told a story. If I want a game, I'll go play a video game with a controller better than a TV remote.
Bandersnatch was trippy. Sad it might be gone forever.
I watched Kimmy Schmidt, but I didn't know there was an interactive special.
It's was essentially a pick your own adventure with 3 decisions all creating a 1-2min clip. I personally ouldn't recommend it, but they tried something new
Oh shit, now I'm wondering if I did watch it and it just wasn't very memorable...
I'll admit I liked the concept behind Bandersnatch. The story it tried to tell was also pretty neat and had something going for it. A look into game development in the 80s and mentions of retro computer systems (C64 and ZX Spectrum) hit all the right boxes. Sadly, the novelty wore off quickly.
