Who do you think will advance in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs?
Does nobody post here?.
You know it's the one thing I miss most about reddit, so I thought I'd try to get some discussion going with the playoffs afoot
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators?
I think Toronto takes this one. Battle of Ontario!
As a sens fan, I hope not lol, should be a great series though, really looking forward to it
Leafs. I clearly haven’t learned my lesson.
Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars?
I hope the Avs. Tf happened to Dallas in the last few weeks?!
Ya, the Avs are looking elite this year. Not as tuned into the Stars, but agreed their last ten isn't looking great.
It's pretty common to fall off at the end of the regular season, all the teams who have no chance of moving up or down in their brackets (in order to gain home ice or face a more favorable contender) rest their top talent. The Avs last few games saw their fourth line promoted to first, and lines 2-4 populated with dudes who didn't see any I've time this year. No use in risking injury for games that literally don't matter.
Las Vegas Golden Knights vs. Minnesota Wild?
Winnipeg Jets vs. St. Louis Blues?
Binnington vs. Hellabuyck. Prolly jets in six but this could be a war.
Assuming Ehlers recovers and everyone else stays healthy, the Jets can absolutely take the series.
As a Blues fan, I'd love to say us, but I don't see us getting past the Jets. Especially if Holloway is still out.
Ya... That's a tough matchup for the blues, but it's the playoffs, anything can happen!
Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings?
Again! Kings are the best they've been the last four years against the oil in the first round, but as always.... (Gestures to the Connor McDavid). Oilers in six.
As an Oilers fan I'm feeling pretty anxious, the team is severely banged up, and trying to score on Kuemper this year has been an exercise in futility. McDrai will have to be at full power to pull this one off. I'm gonna say Oilers in 7, but I would also not be surprised if the Kings go on a run this year.
Carolina Hurricanes vs. New Jersey Devils?
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Florida Panthers?
I must've been asleep b/c I didn't recall the Panthers' having slipped so far toward the end of the regular season that Tampa got home ice advantage. Hell, the cats finished only one point ahead of the Sens! Granted, they were missing Tkachuk and Marchand for a good chunk there. Based on how well they turned it around in Tampa, I won't be surprised if they complete the sweep in Sunrise.
Hoping for a 21 game series where they dress the farm teams due to injury.
