In Hillary's defense (ugh) trump is about the only candidate she had a chance to beat
The real problem was the old dnc insisting it should be her, letting her primary campaign fund the dnc, and letting her primary campaign have final say over everything the DNC did during both the primary and general...
She literally staged a hostile takeover of the party funded by billionaires who it turns out we're fine with trump and even preferred him.
So if you zoom out, it wasn't really Hillary's fault. She was a useful idiot to American's oligarchs whether she knew it or not. Billionaires bought her so she'd buy the DNC and make sure we didn't get anyone even close to Obama again
The really really good news is we finally got the DNC out of neoliberals hands.
The fight over the party already happened, and we won.
So it's important to understand this recent history, but under no circumstances blame the current dnc of 2025 for the bullshit Hillary's people pulled the last 30 years

Obama left the party $24 million in debt—$15 million in bank debt and more than $8 million owed to vendors after the 2012 campaign—and had been paying that off very slowly. Obama’s campaign was not scheduled to pay it off until 2016. Hillary for America (the campaign) and the Hillary Victory Fund (its joint fundraising vehicle with the DNC) had taken care of 80 percent of the remaining debt in 2016, about $10 million, and had placed the party on an allowance.

The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.

They were left vulnerable to financial influence because they were in debt from Obama. All that funding was needed to get a reasonable human being in office. She probably knew this as his VP and was able to use money to get assistance being the nomination. I still think she would have been far better than trump, she is actually good with money. But god, is that fucking annoying that the political parties are just companies that can be bought. Uggggggh it always just boils down to money. God I wish Bernie had been president. He would have worked to get the rich out of our government. I gotta take a break from this, it's just fucking depressing

That's the whole problem. The DNC and Hillary's campaign was the same people.
They were left vulnerable to financial influence because they were in debt from Obama.
Obama neglected the DNC because in 08 they worked against him in the primary and abandoned him in the general... Because he didn't name a chair as president after the general, Hillary's people held onto the reigns.
But Obama didn't put the DNC into debt, that DNC choose to play favorites and when their favorite (Hillary) lost they didn't support the candidate.

As of two months ago the neoliberals have been kicked out of DNC leadership, the new chair used to run Minnesota State Dem party and has a very strong track record.
It's great you're asking questions though, and the silver lining is we already won the fight of the party. Shit was fucked at the dnc for decades, now it isn't.
So whatever you do, don't start working against the current dnc because of what was done more than 2 months ago.
