...sounds like webTV is back...
Oh, this isn't satire.
Yeah April fools already passed. Hopefully Microsoft got their days mixed up lol.
tldr: it's a thin client that works only with microsoft infra and costs $350
That's a lot of money for a thin client that can't connect to a local server. I would rather use a terminal over a 300 baud acoustic coupler modem than this piece of e-waste.
For corpos that rely on this kind of infrastructure it might be ok because Dell stuff isn’t really that cheap either. I’m more puzzled that somebody could be interested in this. I’ve been through multiple companies that relied primarily on thin clients using Citrix/VMware for virtualisation on the other end and they all retreated from that idea during the pandemic even though one would think it would be the opposite.
its real utility is to those fully invested in Microsoft's cloudy vision.
"Cloudy vision" is a fantastic phrase, definitely stealing it.
🤮
just bought a thin client for 30€ the other day, and even that thing can rum void linux.
It's just a Chromebook in desktop format.
Not even a chromebook. You can play local videos off a Chromebook (or access files) if you don't have access to the internet.
