You could also make this point with illegal immigrants.
With ICE simply looking for "Anyone they can excuse grabbing", all violent/gang-affiliated immigrants have to do is exercise basic caution, and ICE will miss them completely. If they have enemies, or witnesses in immigrant communities that could testify against them, all they have to do is leave ICE a tip against that person.

Easier targets and political relevance, if you're a sociopath, as people who climb the proverbial ladder tend to be, that's the best "bang for your buck" so to speak as far as looking good in law enforcement.

It's regular people who are stuck with a Tesla. They got sold in to the EV crowd, and until the last 5 years Tesla's were pretty much the only major fully electric option do the charging network. They were lied to by Musk with promises that never came. One thing they did get is a nifty video security system, I bet the cops are loving all the video evidence. Not everyone can just sell their car at a major loss to get something different, life ain't that easy.
I'm gonna say it; if an Arab man set someone's car on fire, or started attacking dealerships they'd be charged with terrorism with out a second thought. 5 years ago if a white man in a red marvel hat keyed a Tesla or set it ablaze, the same crowd keying/lighting cars today would be calling for blood. Sick of the "rules for you, none for me" bullshit.
Destruction of property is not a protest against Tesla, its a crime against the people who own the car, a burden on taxpayers,, fire fighters are risking their lives to put out those Tesla fires because "protesters" got upset at 1 dude they can't reach and decided to take it out on the closest person they could.

Your comparison of people who rely on United Healthcare being mistaken for their CEO is absurd.
People can sell their Tesla's, but Americans can seldom choose their insurance provider. Insurance is also how people stay alive, and a Tesla is simply a tool for getting from point a to point b, of which there are literally thousands of alternatives.
Tesla's cheapest model (the model 3) starts at over $42,000 for the bare-bones, base model. That's an extremely expensive sedan. You can sell that used and select from a huge selection of excellent NEW cars.
So yeah, fuck Tesla's. Fuck their maker, and fuck their owners.

Not everyone can just sell their car at a major loss to get something different, life ain't that easy.
But if enough people are persuaded to sell then this will damage the Tesla share price and margin call Musk.

I posted this in another thread but it’s worth posting it here too. This person is obviously not arguing in good faith. Literally everybody knows that’s not the situation. But here this person is, oversimplifying, speaking to anger others, and obfuscating the facts.
Anyway, here’s my comment from the other day:
This is that usual gaslighting rhetoric from the right. Someone reminded of the Sartre quote about anti-semites recently. It’s so applicable to how the right twists facts and makes absurd over-generalizations. It’s the epitome of acting in bad faith.
