Chinese scientists achieve breakthrough in hyper-spectral imaging technology

TL:DR they developed a camera that captures the traditional image, but also combines it with spectral light data (data about what wavelengths are in what amount) which allows them to identify different materials with the camera even if they look identical to the eye.
