They should have had Rick sneak into Mortys room and scream his name to get up. Can pull audio from other episodes from past. Morty wakes up screaming and punches Rick in the throat. Rick starts choking and Mortify asks if he is alright, using old audio again, than Rick punches him in the throat as retaliation. Then they both continue to choke for a few minutes. Then in new voices the agree to never talk about this again. Que new intro.
I know they're doing this because it's a cash cow for them, but didn't the guy play a huge part in the show? I'd imagine this is probably going to be the last season unless by a miracle they can do without his writing and I think adlib?
I'm saying this probably would've been a reason to cancel the show altogether.
By all accounts the past couple seasons he just shows up drunk to record his lines, be obnoxious in the office for a couple hours and then go home.
The actual writing and content hasn't really involved him. So assuming they can find a voice that isn't too jarring, odds are the average person won't know or care and the show will be just fine.
My love of Rick and Morty's adventures has very little to dow Justin Roland. Also seems a been rash to give up on a show that's already contracted out for several more seasons.
“We are closing in on the end of our process of the recast”, not a very informative article. Also notes that recasts are "soundalikes" and that show is as good as it's ever been. No date for the next season yet.
they got Dan Stevens who was in Downton Abbey and Marvel’s Legion. I really like him, and from the two videos they’ve released so far, I think it’s gonna be just fine.
I'd lost track of how long R&M had been running until a few days ago. I was watching an old episode of Community and there was Abed and his gf Brie Larson sitting on the couch and watching Rick & Morty.
For anyone who's not aware, some of the "other shit" is an extensive series of screenshots of texts where he's soliciting sexual interactions with teenage girls. Such excerpts include:
“Why are you such jailbait? What’s wrong with you in that regard? You should just grow older you dumb bitch.”
"Is it cool being a jailbait?"
“Does the FBI follow you around arresting all the men you sleep with?”
I think they should pivot to a whole season of Interdimensional Cable, with a season-length R&M plotline weaved in with no actual exposure to the usual characters.
His case was closed due to lack of evidence or something, but there's still a ton of actual real evidence that got released online of him perving on underage girls and talking about how much he wants to bang 15 year olds, so it's doubtful anyone's going to be doing business with him again any time soon
I think someone unearthed a clip of him on a podcast talking about sex with kids which at the time was probably seen as edgy humour but... Yeah. Something to do with wishing he could go back to the past because then it ok to sleep with teens? Can't remember. Don't care enough to Google it. But it's beyond doubt the man should probably be on a watch list
Charges dropped by district attorney due to the case not having enough compelling evidence to secure a conviction. Not exactly cleared, the prosecutor just didn't think they could secure a conviction.
ITT: People who have no problem condemning a man via hearsay, and giving no respect to our justice system.
Hang the witches! Burn them!
1: It wasn’t only the allegations of domestic violence. It was also the extremely creepy DMs and history of openly sexualizing minors that got him in trouble.
2: Prosecutors refusing to bring people who commit DV to trial is relatively common. It’s sometimes difficult for there to be much evidence, it becomes a matter of he-said-she-said, and victims often don’t want to press charges for a number of reasons including their own safety or affection for their abusers.
3: There is no hearsay here. There are allegations. Hearsay is an out-of-court statement offered in court to prove the truth of whatever it asserts. It’s someone saying in court, “I heard her say that he hit her.” It is generally not admissible as evidence, though there are many exceptions to the hearsay rule.
4: This isn’t about our justice system, or a lack of respect for it. This is about companies who refuse to continue working with an individual due to his actions. What the justice system decides to do is not directly related to how companies operate. By all accounts they were mostly pretty sick of his shit anyway.
Judging by the creepy-as-fuck DMs and his general demeanor, I’m not really willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on these allegations. Don’t be a creepy fuck, Justin.
Not really a lot of respect to a lot of people who are trying to do the justice in the system but failing at it miserably. US justice system isn't as infallible and trustworthy as you for some reason think it is.
