The way people really suddenly think oh yeah China is just a good country like a European democracy where you can live well is flabbergasting. Of course a dictatorship with massive censorship and suppression of minorities has mostly positive comments.
And of course, many people that aren’t part of a harassed minority or politically active against the rulers aren’t saying horrible stuff against them (which wouldn’t be seen anyway).
Hey. I want you to Google the name Fred Hampton and find out what America does to it's minority who speaks out.
Maybe consider we have a larger prison population than the 1.whatever billion people. Largely made of our minorities.

This isn't to say China doesn't deserve criticism. The point is that many of your "they are an evil dictatorship who slaughters minorities!" Doesn't hold up when we, a democracy, is doing the same thing but worse.

We target our black population with over policing and underfunding restricting them largely to dying neighborhoods where they are then made criminal, arrested And put to slave labor. I would say this is arguably ethnic cleansing.
Native American reservations are poorly taken care of, placed on land of no value, and left to wallow. They starve and live in poverty. They have two choices. Integrate into America or suffer. Kill the Indian save the man. I'd say this is also arguably ethnic cleansing.

The point here is that you give America a biiiiiiiig pass on its many crimes. But China, a place you know nothing about outside of American sources gets the opposite of a pass. Have you considered that maybe our government, who calls China our mortal enemy, embellished some things? For our entire lives? Just something to consider.
And before you go off on "YOUR JUST EXCUSING CHINA", I am not. I am pointing out a hypocrisy. China has and is doing a lot of fucked up things. But information that is good is hard to find in the sea of state sponsored lies
You can investigate America. Take pictures. Report. China is a black hole of authoritarian censorship. Go talk about tiananmen square and see what happens. You can talk freely about Americas problems .
