Why scientists say hottest recorded year shouldn't be ignored

The hottest year on record so far.
- Or is it one of the coolest years for the rest of our lives?
And yet ignored it will be, particularly by those in a position to actually do anything about it.
I'm pretty sure all they need to do is show everyone this graphic...
