I lived happily oblivious of the existence of tankies until I randomly said I was voting for a democratic politician in r/latestagecapitalism.

Like, just because you vote for someone doesn't mean you are 100% aligned with everything they say. Or even 50% of it. Just means you're more aligned with them than the other option. The only people who could possibly benefit from such a stupid mode of thought are part of authoritarian governments.
