While it's certainly possible and I've wondered it myself I'd be wary of believing reporting from the CIA and Br*tish intelligence cut-out known as reuters who after all has been breathlessly repeating the Ukrainian propaganda line about all kinds of alleged made up Russian atrocities.
I agree but once you scratch the surface of this one it seems very very likely to be Russian AA. The Russians reportedly did not allow the plane to divert to their territory. Not exactly sure why they flew across the sea, but it appears to be a major contributing factor to the situation in addition to theain incident (presumably Russian AA, or whateveer actually happened).
Could have been Ukrainian drones or something as well. Russians weren't firing at nothing. The airport they went to originally was under attack by Ukrainian drones. Possible they veered off and sent some to down the plane. I'd rather wait for the Russians to either admit it or for crash investigators to confirm before doing the potential dirty work of the slanderous west against Russia for something they 1) aren't totally responsible for (they were under attack by an enemy using terrorist tactics and may have made a mistake in the defense) 2) may not have done, could have been a Ukrainian drone as I said or something else.
Time will tell for sure, I'm not really up for discussing it anywhere besides here anyway.
