"If there's ever been a time to discuss serious campaign finance reform, it is now," one advocate said. "We are sliding into a new era of American oligarchy, and unless we take decisive action, the integrity of our democracy is at risk."

This is like saying, "hey, guys, we really need to talk about taking steps to prevent a fire," as the house is burning down.
I also wonder what their definition of "decisive action" is. I get the impression that it involves a lot of talking, and not much else.
Unfortunately, I feel things have become so desperate that centrists, the left, and progressives are starting to look for an alternative to the DNC. It has already begun with Pelosi leading the charge by keeping AOC out of a key House position where she could have offered a fresh perspective for the left.
Take note - this is precisely why it is important for the party to exert control and preference in its own nominating process. It is not corruption. It is not anti-democratic. But Elon Musk is 100% going to try to use the last decade of information warfare which had been waged on the DNC to convince you that it's perfectly normal to hijack primaries while invoking the Bernie Sanders defense.
