  • confirmation processes will test the loyalty of Senate Republicans.

Not to worry, I'm sure they'll pass with flying colors.

  • Chris Hayes post

RFK announcement puts a fine point on something I've been trying to articulate and is a theme of the Trump years. It's something I've wrestled with and that a lot of Dem messaging has gotten wrong. Part of what Trump does is constantly divide the country along the lines of pro-system and anti-system.

And because Trump is such wrecking ball, you end up in this defensive posture of pro-system, pro-status quo. HHS/FDA is a great example.

Of COURSE the US food and drug system is captured and bad in a million different ways: from nutritional recommendations, which are often laughably wrong or corrupted to our outrageous regime of drug patenting etc.

  • My ass is learning how to fluoridate my own water if that goes. Not because I think it does anything, but because I don’t want to hand the altmed types a w they’ve been thirsting for longer than I’ve been alive

  • I give him a week at most before he tries to ban diet coke and Trump cans him

    • It's funny how predictions about Trump - no matter how ridiculous or how jokey - could come to pass.

"We will ban Diet Coke due to the presence of globalistides..."

A few hours later angry Trump bellows "RFK Jr. says Diet Coke has globalistides and globalistides are bad. Globalistides? Nobody knows what that is. Even doctors. 'What?' they say. Nobody knows. And I love Diet Coke. RFK Jr. is out. I fired him. Dr. Phil's gonna head the Department of Health..." Trump has a confused look on his face. "The Department of Health... and the Other Stuff."
