Agreed those parts were the most frustrating and weakest parts that kinda pulled me out of the experience. In contrast I actually didn't mind it in Soma so much as those sections seldom were much of a threat so managed to pass them without much frustration. But they didn't add much to the experience tbh the narrative and environment of that game was already perfect enough

Walking sims are underrated. There are a few story heavy RPGs that I probably would've enjoyed more if the combat was stripped out
Dear Esther and Gone Home are goddamn treasures. I'm so glad others like walking sims. They get shit on so much by g@mers.

aren't ready to hear yet is that disco elysium and night in the woods are both walking simsPlanescape torment moment the combat in that game was pointless. I love me a good walking sim, still wakes the deep was brilliant.
