  • I know it's a waste of time to argue on the internet, but sometimes it's the only thing keeping my brain sharp, you know?

    If I gently point out someone may need to rethink their position, and they decide I was actually just personally attacking them and they come for me, I literally crack my knuckles and go in. Nuclear.

    What else am I supposed to do on a cold Saturday afternoon?

    • Indeed. Sometimes challenging idiots can help elucidate our views and sharpen our arguments.

      But sometimes idiots are not so idiotic. They might be there to drive the narrative and distract us from posting a more scientific or humanistic viewpoint. iow, they might be shills.

  • I never watch footy but I ended up watching the last half an hour of Lions vs GWS with colleagues... What a turnaround! So dramatic!

    • It was insane. Thought the Lions were fine and out and then they come back from nowhere.

      My Cats have have play against the Lions next week. Hope the Lions don’t come back like that for us.

    • Oh yeah that is stressful. Sorry to hear. And yeah in general you should be ok if you watch out. If you get an email with a link don't click it. Go to the website directly, or at east double check the email address and the website name before entering any details.

      Don't use public wifi (like cafes and stuff).

      Just be mindful and it will be ok most of the time.

    One them quaint Terry Pratchett shows.

    A cute way to spend 3 hours watching telly ( but 3 hours is enough cute. )

    3 Hobbits ( 4 if you are a totes Pratchett stan )

    Skyfall. ( again )

    This movie really does look beautiful, so many awesome scenes/shots.

    Takes itself too seriously for me to overlook the sheer absurdity of the escapades and the way M is involved in day to day ops. 🙄 I'm pre.tty sure they would have divisions and teams and team leaders and handlers and such. Someone like Bond prolly wouldn't even ever go to head office .

      • I actually liked it better. The world building seems more believable, the story original and amusing and the characters and actors were good too
