RIP, will have a succulent Chinese meal in his honour
Jack Karlson became an internet sensation as the subject of the "Succulent Chinese Meal" viral clip.
For those out of the loop.
He was mistaken for a thief of some kind and was arrested in the middle of a meal.
Does anyone know what democracy manifest means?
I'm talking out of my ass, but it could mean that the natural conclusion of democracy is mob rule, where nothing matters besides the sentiment of "the mob", a large group of like-minded people. Here he was falsely accused of theft but because enough people believed the lie, he was taken to jail based solely on sentiment.
Or not. This is my take on his "democracy manifest" comment.
I believe he’s commenting on the idea that state of the current democracy has led to his wrongful arrest.
He’s asking onlookers, “Is this really what you voted for?”
I would argue it just means that the Democracy that was created as the Australian government is (among other things) what led to his wrongful arrest while eating out and being manhandled on camera. -He just said it in an extraordinarily eloquent way. You could also draw some additional inferences based on his behavior, tone, and choice of words, but I can't really confirm any 100%.

He was a really nice guy it turned out, and also innocent, and also a pretty good oil painter. He had a whole series of paintings of the incident, including a couple where he is depicted arresting himself. In a classic interview where he is having a laugh about the event and showing some of the pictures he ends the section by cooking a succulent Chinese meal for the interviewer.
There was also a wine released called get your hand off my pinot. The world feels a little smaller without him.
