  • About to go at some gutters. Neighbours' big tree is overhanging the shed so they're always full. I like the tree and I'm fine cleaning it up (usually compost it) but he refused to pay for half the recently rebuilt fence so fuck him he's going get a lot of leaves on his side of the boundary. His leaves, my problem, soon to be his problem. He also has a pool so we're aiming there.

  • Pakige is waiting for me at the post office. After my Temu splurge I will have a few more coming over the next couple of weeks too. I am undermining my own decluttering progress. Hopefully a couple of things I have up for sale get bought soon and cancel it out a bit!

    • We have a box of stuff that we want to get rid of. Dealing with annoying people always feels so exhausting though. It always feels like it is too much hassle over $10 or $20.

      • It can be a hassle. I often do porch pickup so I don't have to actually meet people directly - surprisingly no one has taken the item and not left money yet. The stuff I have at the moment is all postable stuff on eBay. I think the fees they charge are well worth the reduced hassle, but unfortunately eBay doesn't get the sales volume it used to. I used to be able to put up just about anything with a 99c start, it would be bid up to a good price and sold within a week.

  • I fell sleep but the day hasn't been wasted

    did 30 minutes weeding in the garden and planted jalapeno seeds. Did 30 minutes, of sanding of the chair. Have done many loads of washing. Did some grocery shopping.

  • Started watching a K Drama last night and feel utterly sucked it. Might also just be bored at work, but I wanna go home and watch it! Also, my mofusand plushie has been delivered so I wanna see that! Feeling like a petulant child today!

  • I have now officially spent too much on Temu. I am completely out of money so will be stopping now. 😬 I was suckered in to buying a tool to make meatballs, so I guess meatballs will be on the menu soon.

  • So brought down a bunch of braches overhanging the shed. I am now in love with the kukri. Did WAY better than loppers. 10/10 new fave cut shit tool.

  • It's been so warm and sunny I think I'll go to the beach tomorrow.

    • Will be very windy according to the BOM. Upwards of 50kph. Wear sunglasses for eye protection.

    • I've just been wondering if it's my messed up temperature regulation or if it really has been warmer than usual today. House was toasty. I really hope I feel well enough for a walk in the sun tomorrow

  • Man, that Rikodeine really throws a brick at your brain and knocks you out but not in a good way... I've only taken medication with codeine one other time in my life (panadeine forte after a wisdom tooth extraction) - and I hated how woozy and half-conscious it made me. Same with this. Where's the euphoria?? Ugh. It did help me stop coughing all night but I've been straight up unable to get out of bed for hours. I guess that's what I needed, but it feels like crap.

    It's so perfect outside, I want to go for a walk and soak up the sun on a nice patch of grass, but I feel too weak to right now. Yet staying in bed all day will feel gross too. I don't feel like watching anything either. ...maybe I'll sit at the entrance to my balcony for a bit and just do nothing. What a crazy idea!

    • That all sounds par for the course with opiates. Doing nothing in the sun is probably perfect.

  • Miniest wants me to get Snoop Dogg's cookbook. Actually looks halfway decent and I'm kinda tempted..

  • So I received a response from the bus company about the other night when the bus left without me. Apparently the bus driver was on break which is why he was parked past the bus stop. Apparently he checked his mirrors before he left but didn't see me.

    The whole situation was fucking confusing. There were 2 buses parked after the bus stop: 1 was completely turned off with nobody inside, the other had a driver marked inside but was marked as not in service. A bus turned around the corner and I thought that was mine, but it was marked special and didn't stop. Then after it passed, the not in service bus changed its desto to my route and left without me. Something like this:

    Also, the complaint was apparently filed under "failure to collect", and the email they sent me includes a link to an extranet page with guidance on how to respond to such complaints, but unfortunately PTVs IT department knows how to secure internal documents. This makes me sad, as someone who likes to read internal documents though. Interestingly they don't use a username and password, they just block unauthorised IP addresses from accessing the page at all through CloudFlare. beta.ptv.vic.gov.au does the same, which I only know because for some reason, some of their public facing links link to the beta page, which obviously doesn't work

  • Khaki coloured helicopter doing laps over Thornbury - does anyone know anything? Not the copper chopper, nor a news channel one.
