I really would have loved for the "ride out" cutscene to play in one piece. Having Volt run along instead of hopping on a bike is chef's kiss
I need the Eleanor Gemini skin emote yesterday. I'm glad Trinity and Nyx are getting looked at: Trinity because she's kind of awful to play, Nyx because I thought she was already in a mostly good place and I'm eager to see what they do. "Light Rework" makes me think changes like the target cap on Psychic Bolts or changes to Mind Control (maybe have it work through Overguard?) or the energy consumption on Absorb.
December is going to be a long way away.
I'm also super excited to see what sort of Infested-themed weapons get updated. I had a bout of madness and went back and reviewed most of the old Bio Labs weapons, and there are some diamonds in the rough in there, notably Hema, Pox and Embolist. And of course an update to the Infested wing of the Entrati weapons, like Arum Spinosa and Sporothrix. Be interesting to see if they update some of the existing "secret boss" low-usage high-power weapons like Sporothrix and Catabolyst too.
Nyx is useful I guess, but she doesn't really stand out in today's meta.
Armour stripping is cool, but she can only handle a few targets at a time.
With the augment for her 4th she's really tanky, but also very slow.
Her CC is pretty good, but why bother when there are frames which can wipe the room in the same amount of time.
I guess that's power creep for ya.
Trinity used to be required for high level missions with her damage reduction, but who needs that anymore with shieldgating and all the other chaos abilities cause.
It really isn't much of a squad game anymore.
Nyx is one of my main frames because of how flexible and complete she is. If I'm doing Incursions or a lich hunt, Nyx is my easy lazy pick.
Psychic Bolts is unique amongst fullstrip abilities because it's one-handed, so you can stay mobile on linear mission types, and Pacifying Bolts provides a very long stun on non-combat mission types like Captures. It also has extremely low power requirements which can be met with shards alone, so I have my Nyx built just for Range and Duration, and one of my Arcanes goes towards Arcane Consequence so I can get through linear missions faster.
CC is useful if an objective defense comes up, since nuke frames can't always keep up. And unlike Loki, she brings a native fullstrip at the cost of very slightly less taunt power.
Absorb is in a weird place as I think it's optional now that helminth exists. Chaos (+/- Chaos Sphere) and Condemn handles all my survivability needs. I only use it on my lich hunting loadout in case I get an early lich.
Mind Control is my only huge disappointment. Overguard kind of spoiled the fun of stealing eximus abilities for yourself, especiall Heat and Energy Leech eximus. I barely use Mind Control anymore, although it does have nice non-eximus targets still.
I would also love to see the (now broken?) Psychic Bolts function of removing infested auras expand to removing all Eximus abilities and doing so through Overguard.
Nyx, like Caliban, improves exponentially when you replace the weird and out of place ability with a better one, be Gloom, Xata's Whisper, Condemn(for shield tanking) or Nourish.
For Nyx its her 4, Caliban his 1.
Caliban's persistent aoe shield/armor stripping field is insane in the right conditions(E.G. Interception, Defense, Mobile Defense.)l
Nyx gets insane with a magnetic weapon and a Jade Eximus. Take out the overguard, mind control, congrats, you have a pet jade light.
This really sounds like you don’t play Nyx ever, or at least not in the last couple of years.
With her 2 augment, she stuns everyone in front of her, and stunned enemies then DIE.
I recall that Nyx’s low usage shot up considerable when Steel Path became available—and that’s because all the things she does are not needed in the normal star chart, but they REALLY are when you’re starting the Path.
Does she need to have strong weapons? Sure. But so what? Plenty of frames without exalteds need strong weapons.
Also the real thing she needs with her 4 augment is either Rift Strike on the Twin Basolk, or the Nira (Amar? I can’t remember) mods that lets her teleport to any enemy she heavy attacks. An invincible armor stripper who teleports all over the map heavy attacking? Such fun.
Honestly thought Nyx was doomed because she was Rebecca's favorite. Glad to see I was wrong.
My only real issues with Trinity are her low duration on her 1, 3 and 4, and her augments really need to be better, especially champion's blessing which wasn't really usable because of shield gating and is even less usable now with Overguard becoming more common. Energy Vampire Trinity still has its niche though, and is still probably my go to frame for the Index. Link isn't bad either in Radiation sorties besides the very low duration.
@sandriver @HKayn I’m glad you said that I’ve never had the mental fortitude to play Trinity.
"Slow, full-body casts" and "extremely short duration buff juggler" is such a terrible combo. I also hope they fix Link having brief drop-outs when you kill your linked enemies. Maybe a buff to Champion Blessing to be easier to max, but I know that's probably optimistic. She just needs to flow better.
I am so on board a 1999 boyband / 2k virus infestation crossover, it's such a good idea to connect these 2 places/times and introduce the long awaited liches too
The city open world looked amazing, I just hope they kept it not too big, and they never add archwing to it
Other than that not a lot of solid announcements or even news, but tbh I've been feeling pretty confident and optimistic about WF since Rebb took over so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and let them cook.
Managed to get the rifle and Saryn Prime just in time, oof those hours were tight
Loved this year's Tennocon - it still follows the trend I dislike of "here's a story mission in a game called Warframe about those things called warframes, and we'll make you play anything and everything except warframes", but at least Arthur plays LIKE a warframe, so I'm good.
Also, holy hell I absolutely love that On-lyne song, unironically. It's just so nineties it hurts, and I want to play it on repeat all day :)
Pretty excited about Tokyo Game Show too - as soon as they confirm which day is their big reveal I'm almost definitely buying a ticket. TGS lines are hell on earth, but I think I'll brave it just to meet the team.
