  • So the RE has forwarded the call fee invoice to us from the plumber. I expected it, because it was my washing machine.

It's $500. FIVE HUNDRED! For the guy to diagnose the issue in less than half an hour.

Lucky I got my tax return today, paid it in full and did some ass-kissing in the email back to the RE. Like, plumbers have to do a lot of gross things, of course they should be compensated appropriately, but he just moved my fridge and washing machine and walked around with his detector device. Lol. He made bank.

    • It might be worth calling and letting the plumber know that the RE has passed the charge to you - sometimes they charge crazy fees because they know they can. Total shit practice, but maybe it's worth a try?

      • plumber is RE's brother in law*

I don't know this but knowing the ethical nature of RE's it would not surprise me

      • I already paid it this morning and I cannot be bothered asking about it tbh. I could probably negotiate it down, but I just want it to be done and to focus on drying out the carpet and skirting board to assess repairs.

It's a $500 lesson to not freak out and check my own appliances before calling anyone lol!

    • Ouch.

      Charged like a wounded bull.

  • I have woken up with a proper sore throat. This is not ideal ( but explains the anxiety and nightmares the last couple of days...)

  • Today's been a productive day. I sorted out the meeting with my current school to unenrol, that's happening next Thursday. I sorted out the situation with my new TAFE school, and although it's not officially processed and I'm not enrolled yet, she said there shouldn't be any issues. The program manager ordered one of the replacement phones, and said she'll organise the replacement MacBook before the end of the day (though she seems busy so I'm not holding my breath). I called the police man back (I only had 5 minutes before a GP appointment when he rang so I said I'd call back). He wanted me to send him an email with photos of all the damage as well as an itemised list of everything that's damaged or stolen.

I thought it may be an issue that I've been finding more things missing every day since the police report, so the police report doesn't have a complete list, but he said it's no problem and that tends to happen to most people. So I sent him that email. And then I went and made a psychologist appointment I've been putting off for a while.

Also the DT is at 178 comments and it's only 3pm. Guess I'm not the only one having a productive day!

Edit: unfortunately it seems the psych I chose is retiring at the end of the year, so she called to let me know she cancelled my appointment. She was the only person I found on the find a psych thingy that specialised in my problems and looked friendly :/

    • I have been productive today too. Took some parcels to the post office that I've been putting off for ages, done some washing, organised a bunch of breakfasts, sorted out the rubbish bins and did some weeding.

  • Feeling better after getting out of bed and making myself some tacos with the last five tortillas and bits and pieces. Still have leftover pickled onions (orange and vinegar), from two weeks ago and I'm sold on having a jar of these going on at all times - just a little transforms any taco or sandwich

  • Think I'll go out for a walk and do some errands while it isn't raining, 😘

  • Stupid friggin tv show I'm watching rang a Ring doorbell and the dog went nuts because my parents have one on the front door

  • still feeling a bit weird, went to sleep with a headache and had a nightmare I was being hunted by a crime gang, I ran like hell and threw off my unicorn oodie and anything else that could identify me in a crowd

    🤔

  • I have the vision of how I'm going to design the covers of the antique chairs. After getting all the different vintage fabrics, which all have a baroque theme, I can see there is a blue green palette and red beige palette, so those will be the designs. With black stained wood finish it will look cool.

  • Bugger the ABS. 8 months of compulsory survey. Yet another bloody task and password to keep track of 💩

    • Oh. I've done that before when my daughter was just born. Back then it was over the phone. The lady was very understanding when she could hear my baby crying.

  • The cats' napping has infected me with the sleepies and I've gotta go pick up the papou 😭

  • Late night movie review.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

A movie on the power of narratives.

I love this movie so much. It shows teens in truly terrifying situations, supernatural situations. The teens are smart, brave, determined, co-operative and caring, and resourceful in facing danger and solving their problems.

    4 hobbits.
