As many of those as I had as a kid, you'd think I'd smile more:
LOL
I've only seen that brand a handful of times. We have Flavor-Ice down here.
Otter Pops are still around, NN.
I've gotten the giant ones of Amazon before, they're good (better flavors than other brands)
I can't be the only one who didn't hurt himself on these as a kid.
Like... I wasn't the smartest kid in the world, but learning to be careful with anything you put in your mouth, that was a lesson I learned early.
Wtf were you people doing with these, anyway? It took me only like 3 tries before I decided these weren't worth trying to open with my teeth. It was scissors from that point on.
The issue wasn’t opening them initially, the issue was with the flat edges on the sides where the two sides were fused together, and along which the layer of connected popsicles were connected. You put the popsicle in your mouth and it felt like you were slicing the corners of you mouth with a razor blade.
Maybe you had a really large mouth as a child? Idk. Now I’m wondering how you hurt yourself with these things lol.
That's what I mean, I didn't!
The plastic wasn't a danger unless you were doing something absurd like putting plastic in your mouth and then tightening your lips to a dangerous degree. And that would be very easy to stop doing, you just... Don't hold so tight with your mouth.
It's not like you eat these like drinking a thick milkshake. You suck too hard, you pull all the flavor out and are left with flavorless ice. I would always rather have flavored juice left over
What's your country's generic name for them?
Cool pops here. Dominant brand when I was a kid was Mister Freeze.
When I was growing up, they were 'Fla-Vor-Ice', but I think that was the cheap brand.
Those are the GOOD ones.
In Australia the biggest brand, and therefore the name we all call them is "zooper dooper".
Litteraly could not name another brand, I genuinely don't think I've seen a competitor for zooper dooper in Australia (not counting black & gold because that's not exactly a brand, or squelch, who do the fruit juice version, as it's a different product).
It's strange how zooper dooper are in an entirely unique class of frozen product here. Everything else could arguably be called "an icey pole" but zooper dooper is its own thing somehow. (same as sunny boy, that was its own thing, I miss sunny boy!)
Wanna know how i got these scars?
These are still around btw
The summer I worked at Wal-mart's tire center management gave us an entire crate of these things. I thought that was pretty cool. Better pay and benefits would have been better but it was more than I expected from them.
I think they still have these to this day
