I did the quintessential dad thing just now; sat down in our recliner and promptly fell asleep.
Our oldest is very likely done taking naps. Ironically, since having kids, the number of naps I need is only going up.
If I remember right, my kid is of a similar age as your oldest. We depend on a "quiet time" (nap time, but we don't really care if an actual nap happens - just no loud play) to get a little peace some days.
Yup us too. Especially since her brother isn't old enough to be giving up naps. This weekend she had a lot of fun gluing shapes I cut out for her onto construction paper, making little colleges. We went to the craft store today and got more paper, glue, and her own kid scissors. Kept her very occupied as I passed out in the chair trying to read a book.
I gotta ask of our US parents, what are your plans for milk/cheese since the FDA has abandoned quality tests?
My partner did some looking into it and apparently FairLife and Horizon Organics are the ones to use. They are both ultra-pasteurized. From what I remember of our conversation, FairLife also conducts 3rd party quality testing. So I think we will be switching to FairLife.
For cheese, I am not sure what we will do. We usually buy the blocks from Costco but I'm not sure we will continue to do so.
We only ever buy local milk but yeah I have no idea what one could do... Im not buying a cow.
howdy hex parents! I've recently joined your ranks, my baby girl is now a week and change old
how's it going?
Congratulations! Welcome! That first week can be scary, I remember thinking "they just let us go home with her?" Having kids will easily be the most challenging thing you'll do for a long time. How are you holding up?
my sleep is fucked, but otherwise i really really really love being a mom. i am just swelling full of so much love and an overwhelming urge to care for and protect my silly little crying ball of joy. i had no idea it would feel like this before she was born but now that she's here it's like my brain and heart have been completely rewired
Welcome to the ranks of parenthood. That first period feels daunting but babies just need to eat and sleep at that age. I used a stopwatch app on my phone to track feeding times so I knew when my boys would be hungry or wake up, but I had twins so it was quite full on
