Those who live outside of the US, what's something Americans aren't ready to hear?

Someone else in this thread literally mentioned they didn't know Istanbul had electricity, due to the lack of media coverage of Europe in the US.

To be fair, as a European I feel like we have the same regarding other continents (e.g. Africa)
