A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.
Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I'm not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.

@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars Also in Ottawa, Canada. Within a 15-minute walk, in a central area, I can't find: a movie theatre; university; sports arena. A hospital is a bit more than 15 minutes, maybe a 30 minute walk.
This neighbourhood is gentrified. I am here because I am a renter in an infill apartment building. People like me are ruining the neighbourhood according to the NIMBYs.

Walkable neighbourhoods are pretty much all gentrified here. You're lucky if you can rent.
