Nah, you need a VPN on all the time.
@EmperorHenry I didn't say anything different but within my home network the whole network is behind a VPN so I don't need single devices to use a VPN. But as soon as I leave my home network I want the device's VPN to kick in.
Okay, that's all well and good, but you should still use a VPN on all your devices even though your whole home network is going through a VPN. It's like a multi-hop that way
@EmperorHenry but isn't that like using two identical doorlocks with identical keys? I don't think this would bring any security/protection related benefits but instead would slow down the single devices connection.
Every proton VPN connection has its own unique public and private keys. A new set is created with every new connection.
