Running out of space soon

My 12-bay NAS has only about 10TB left. That'll last a while, but Linux repos add up.

What are my options for increasing?

1. Are the Synology expansion units recommended?
2. Get a whole 'nother 12-bay and just use it separately?
3. ....??? Not sure.

I'm definitely a novice at network/computer stuff. Any tips?
