Jon Stewart says the media cried wolf with its 'fascist' attacks on Trump
Liberal comedian Jon Stewart pumped the breaks on the media's "fascist" attacks towards President Trump during an exchange with a "Daily Show" audience member.
False, the media has been handwaving the worst of his crimes, and still focused on the stupid drama distraction shit. Jon is underreacting to this shit, just like the rest of the media is.
I think the main problem with shouting fascist is not that it's wrong but that it's ineffective. You have to address what he's actually doing wrong and how you would do better. Of course it's a big problem that he's incredibly good at spreading disinformation and the Democrats are almost completely media illiterate these days.
I also think Democrats, and especially Lemmy, use it wrong. It's legit the go-to insult for anyone that doesn't join in on the circle-jerk groupthink that Lemmy has going on these days.
The word "fascism" had been used a lot in regards to Trump - not because it's a go-to insult, but because Trump is meeting every characteristic of the word.
