I'm fine with refrigirating bread just to not let it try
I only do it for like the fresh bread you buy from the bakery like those long loafs of French bread. Cause if I don't and I'm not eating it immediately it gets stale very fast.
You don't use a bread bag? :o

Then you must not eat enough bread, simple as that.
Fridge my bread to keep it good a week plus longer. gets a lil stale but toaster fixes that
