He needed the State Department to find that in their report that justified the pause. Either he’s allowing Blinken to provide an inconclusive report or he simply trusts him too much. Either way, that’s what he’s missing to take a firm stand.

Normal presidents don't determine what they say or their policy based off mainstream news, let alone sources liable to call it a genocide like TikTok.
They get it from State Department and other executive branch briefings, and if those departments don't classify it as one, then the president won't either.
