Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section. Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war. Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.
Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:
Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.
https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language. https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one. https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts. https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel. https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator. https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps. https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language. https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language. https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses. https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.
Apparently Tucker interviewed some Palestinian priest? Haven't watched it and I know it's part of his appeal to Christonationalist freaks, but I'm still kind of shocked he did it.
I listened to a bit of it. it's so frustrating how fascists like him are the only mainstream voices who are allowed to tell the truth. he talked about:
how American Christians didn't give a shit when Assyrians were being massacred and ethnically cleansed in Iraq and Syria by US funded extremists
how Ukraine raided churches and cracked down on civil liberties and yet we're still funding them
how Israel is bombing churches and murdering Palestinians Christians
It was actually a pretty good interview and the priest seemed like a good man. Rubbed me the wrong way how Tucker framed everything as “yeah we knew they were killing Arabs, but did you know Israel KILLS CHRISTIANS?!???”
Maybe that’s what American hogs need to stop bombing, but it’s pathetic how racist they are. The other side of the Democrat coin only caring about Palestine after western aid workers were killed
Rubbed me the wrong way how Tucker framed everything as “yeah we knew they were killing Arabs, but did you know Israel KILLS CHRISTIANS?!???”
I don't know what contingent that's for though. he himself says no one gives a shit about Middle Eastern Christians either, why would this change their minds?
I guess it's just to fit the broader 'Christians are persecuted' narrative, to make Americans feel like they're in the same position as Palestinian Christians or something.
It gets people outside the Tucker-sphere talking about Tucker. Gonna get some liberals to "give credit" to Tucker for having a Palestinian on to talk about what's going on in Palestine.
I've spotted a similar talking point in the Polish fringe far right a few weeks ago. That 'we should offer to take in Palestinians because they're being persecuted, but only the christian ones'.
Yeah glad at least something going on there. Problem is that it's like trying to tell a narcissist that they're vain. They won't acknowledge or admit to it. US Christian zionists have commiserated that those people aren't real Christians etc. It does show some kinks in their formation though.
This is what I was mentioning the other day about why some of the people at the Trump rally were changing "Genocide Joe" and how a decent amount of those people were from the Tucker wing of the party.
I was so confused by this, I googled and yeah Munther Isaac is legit. I know the orgs he's associated with and they're not Marxist but they are liberation theology focused. But then in the process of searching for that interview, I see that Tucker just had Doug Wilson, a neo-confederate pastor in Idaho (?), on his most recent podcast, fair and balanced baby. More on Wilson (CW, discussion of SA, racism, general hatred)
It's very telling that the very first Google result for the interview is an article from Jewish Insider that calls him an antisemite for "justifying October 7" (he said it was a logical result of decades of oppression) and calling Judaism a "dead letter" (he said it was used as a weapon to justify displacing and occupying Palestinian land) and so on.
