    • They can't identify "tankies" when they're engaged on those topics because the only method they have of defining a tankie is as someone that supports AES and opposes the state department's line.

      Everyone who isn't visibly a tankie is just a regular marxist to them. And everyone who is saying anything the supports AES or opposes hegemony is a tankie and not a regular marxist.

      They don't realise they're the same thing behaving differently in two different settings. Marxists aren't ranting about aes and stalin when talking about unionisation ffs.
