Yes, it is indeed crazy to try and make life even more shitty for unhoused people.

there’s a cause for it. while 90% of the homeless are decent people getting screwed by the system, that last 10% are drug/severe mental health concerns.
keeping them out of areas for safety is the driving force.
now, i personally think that this is a poor answer and that "better mental health resources" is a far better answer…… i understand why the decision is made.
People with drug addictions and mental health concerns are being screwed by the system even moreso than those you personally consider the "good" ones
Well yeah, I’m already a fucking bear to deal with and I woke up in a warm place with my cat and husband cuddling me. If I had to get hassled by the cops, get my shit stolen, and could only sleep a few hours at a time, I’d do any drugs available and be irritable af
The real solution is not to punish the 90% but to provide help to those 10%.
