Dave Chappelle has released a new Netflix special, The Dreamer, which is full of jokes about the trans community and disabled people.
“I love punching down!” he tells the audience, in a one-hour show that landed on the streaming service today (31 December).
It’s his seventh special for Netflix and comes two years after his last one, the highly controversial release The Closer.
That programme was criticised for its relentless jokes about the trans community, and Chappelle revisits the topic in his new show.
He tells jokes about trans women in prison, and about trans people “pretending” to be somebody they are not.

There's literally nothing to be afraid of. The entire trans issue is a D&C for left-leaning people. Obviously right-wing assholes are going to be assholes, but rational lefties are being crucified for insisting reality is real over an issue that affects <1% of the population.
I have empathy for young men who are so demoralized they've abandoned masculinity.
I also have empathy for young women who have suffered physical and sexual abuse to the extent they want nothing to do with femininity.
This shit is fucked, and a symptom of a civilization that has strayed from its evolutionary purpose.
I wish I could help them be happy and healthy. I wish I could help them accept themselves for who and what they are. You won't be able to make any argument to convince me otherwise. There is literally no other mental condition whose treatment is to lean in to delusion.
