13 0 ReplyDidn't Rob Stark ruin his sword hitting a tree? Or maybe Caitlen kinda forgot about valerian steel?
3 0 ReplyYeah but he didn’t have Valyrian steel only regular steel.
2 0 ReplyDidn't his sword get melted to make the lannister ones? At the start of the episode after red wedding?
1 0 ReplyThat was Ned Stark, Rob is his son.
1 0 ReplyMakes sense. The timing of it made me assume it was Rob's sword, because it was just after the red wedding.
Normally I would rewatch and keep a close look for the details here, but.... I'll take your word for it
1 0 ReplyIf you need a refresher, after Ned Stark gets executed, Tywin got Tobho Mott to melt down Ice into two swords. He gave one to Jamie called Oathkeep while the other one gave to Joffrey call Widow’s Wail (he was really a piece of shit). Joffrey uses that sword to cut the pies during the purple wedding and stuff.

That's still a relative statement right? It may not lose its edge as quickly as others, but eventually it's going to happen.
2 0 ReplyNot if George R. R. Martin doesn't write any more books.

2 0 ReplyValyrian steel is implied to have someone sacrificed and have their blood/soul bound into the sword, hence blood magic presumably keeps it sharp.
